Common denominator

August 25, 2020
“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” - 1 TIMOTHY 2:5

How do you add one-half and one-third? I’m not sure how they do it in school these days, but I remember that in order to add these fractions, we had to find a common denominator. Once you did that, you could solve the problem.

A common denominator. That’s one way of explaining the meaning of the word “mediator.” Jesus Christ, who is both God and man, is the common denominator who solved the problem of how to reconcile an infinite God with finite man.

Jesus bridged the gap that separated us from God. He is the go-between who brings us to God – and Who makes peace with God possible.
