God’s kids

June 18, 2019
And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:2-3

God loves kids! In fact, children and youth have played vital roles in the Kingdom. “You are not able to go against this Philistine…for you are a youth,” were the words David heard just moments before he killed Goliath.

Paul urged Timothy to let no one look down on his youthfulness, but to be an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. And when Jesus wanted an example of the humility, trust and faith necessary to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, “He called a child to Himself.” God calls us to be childlike, but not childish. We’re childish when we lack maturity and refuse to grow up.

We’re childlike when we’re humble, trusting, and receptive. One thing is certain, children were attracted to Jesus… and it is still through that childlike faith that people enter the kingdom today.
