God’s pledge

The big danger in swallowing your foot is that you may choke on it as it goes down. Guards are stationed at boundaries. “Free speech” does not mean liberty to blurt out one’s limited knowledge, mistaken conclusions, unproven assumptions and acidic gossip. All that leads to ruin. God promises protection to those who establish the boundaries of His truth and wisdom around their mouth. Specifically, God’s pledge is that such people maintain the wellness of their souls, not just their bodies. When you’re tempted to shoot off your mouth, muzzle your bullets with prayer.
