Some years ago, a woman I knew was running for political office. She went to a ‘makeover specialist’ and had everything changed – her clothes, hair, makeup – everything. When I saw her again, I thought, ‘Is this the same person?’
Do you sometimes wonder what you might look like if you had an external makeover? It is fascinating to think about what the change might produce. But the truly important makeover is an internal one – the makeover of our hearts. As followers of Jesus, we put to death our sinful thoughts and attitudes, so that instead of complaining we are filled with thankfulness and love. When we do this, we cease to whine – and we begin to shine!
Ask God to help you undergo a “heart makeover” this year so that you can shine for Him.
