Lifting Hearts

Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every skillful person in whom the LORD had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him, to come to the work to perform it. -Exodus 36:2
Early in the 20th century, people were excited about the prospects of dirigibles, huge balloons that would carry passengers across oceans and continents.
The major problem was in finding a source of energy that would lift the big aircraft. First, hydrogen was used. Then, on May 6, 1937, the massive Hindenburg crashed in fiery horror attempting landing in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
Later, helium became the preferred means of lifting giant balloons into the air.
“Lift” is what Moses was looking for when he launched the building of the Tabernacle. Israel’s leader wanted people who needed no external motivation, but whose hearts were already pounding with the desire to construct the Lord’s tent.
Some people must be driven to get their work done, but others are lifted by the positive energy of their own motivated heart.
Love is the “helium” of that lifting heart. Moses looked to men who loved God to throw themselves into the work of tabernacle-building. It’s the same today. Your motivation to do God’s work in the world is an indication of your love for Christ and His Kingdom.
TODAY’S HEART FOCUS
Ask God to fill your heart with love for Him that will motivate you to glorify God in all you do.
