Nicknames

I suspect many of you had a nickname when you were younger. We generally don’t like our nicknames, do we? I remember a coach in junior high called me “Speedball.” I didn’t know what he meant by that, so I didn’t like it. Later in life, we don’t want people to know our nickname because we probably spent a lot of time trying to live it down. But did you know you have a nickname that God gave you when you became a Christian?

God looked at you and said, “Your nickname is ‘son’ or ‘daughter.’” He stamped His name on your life. And now He says, “I have given this name to you. Live up to it!”
