Safe and secure shelter

March 09, 2020
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark." - PSALM 91:1, 4

On the battlefield, guards are posted so everyone else can sleep. In the same way, those of us who trust in God can be assured we are always under the watchful eye of a sentry who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Our Scripture likens this security to abiding under God’s shadow like a baby eagle nesting under its mother. Being sheltered by God doesn’t mean we scurry under His wings only when we’re in trouble. Instead, we constantly walk in an abiding relationship with Him, where we learn to trust Him wholeheartedly.

So let me ask, are you dwelling – abiding – in the shelter of the Most High? If not, get started today by spending personal time with the Lord, praying, and reading the Bible. I guarantee it will be a time of safe refuge under His wings.
