Stabilizer in Turbulence

February 25, 2018
The steadfast of mind Thou will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in Thee. ISAIAH 26:3

In a sense, we all “fly” through turbulence. Like a thunderstorm heaving with wind shear, contemporary culture makes staying on your life-course difficult. Airplanes are built to handle turbulence. Each one has a vertical fin to keep the plane from being whipped side to side and a horizontal stabilizer maintaining level flight.

God made provision for the spiritual and moral turbulence with which we must cope. The heart is intended by God to be an internal stabilizer, keeping us steady in the turbulent blasts of everyday living.

People with minds “stayed” on God are those who rely on Him even while their lives plunge into turbulent storms. They have a sense of safety and welfare that steadies them in the midst of the shrieking gales. The hearts of such people are powerful stabilizers because they are fixed on God.

SPIRITUAL HEART FOCUS
Recall a time when other people were in panic but you were calm, or imagine such a situation. Write down your ideas on how God can make you calm in the storms.
