Without Question

A man was visiting a missionary and his family. Toward sunset he heard the missionary cry out to his son who was playing in their yard at the edge of the jungle. “Phillip! Fall on your belly and crawl to me as fast as you can!” The boy immediately did as his father instructed. The father began running toward his son shouting, “Now stand up and run to me!” As Phillip and his father embraced, the visitor noticed the boa constrictor that was hanging down from the tree right above where the boy had been playing.

Because Phillip had trusted his father’s instructions and obeyed without question or hesitation, a tragedy was averted. How much more our Father in Heaven loves and protects us and provides for our every need. Therefore, like Phillip obeyed his earthly father, we should be quick to obey our Heavenly Father without question or hesitation.
