"But He knows the way I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold." - JOB 23:10

The birth of a giraffe is quite an event. The mother stands during the process, so let’s just say the newborn calf enters the world with a thud! Then the mother gives her newborn a hard kick to get it to stand. It usually takes several kicks before the calf can stay upright on strong legs. From our perspective, that seems like a cruel mother giraffe. But from the perspective of life and survival, that mother knows her little giraffe has limited time to be able to stand on its own.

From our perspective, we might wonder if God really cares about the “thuds and kicks” in our lives. But from His perspective, they are His tools of love, preparing us for spiritual survival. God’s aim is that we grow up, and like that baby giraffe, when we get knocked down, we will get up stronger each time.
