“…who through faith are protected by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”1 Peter 1:5
Did you notice that word, “protected.” We are protected by the power of God. That word means “garrisoned.” When we are in Christ, we are born again with a living hope, with grace, with peace, and we have an inheritance. And we are also protected.
It’s a military term. It’s the picture of being inside a garrison, and the power of God protects us from enemies who would attack. When we put everything we are and have in His hands, His power not only protects us – it keeps us from running away when we’re faced with difficult times.
