Believe it

Before leaving on an extended trip, a young man gave his girlfriend an engagement ring. While he was gone he wrote her promising he would return and asking her to wait for him. Years went by, and people questioned why the woman continued to wait. One day he did return, and he asked how she was able to wait so patiently for him. She said, “I read your letters and I believed what you said.”

On the authority of the Word of God, we can be confident that Jesus is coming back. He said He will return and bring down the curtain of history and that we who are His followers will reign with Him forever and ever. There is nothing more thrilling than that. Jesus will return, just as He said, and when He does the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ.
