“According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.” - PHILIPPIANS 1:20
Why does Christ need to be magnified by our bodies?
It is almost as though the Apostle Paul is saying, ‘My body is a telescope.’ When you look through a telescope, a distant star appears to be near. For a lot of people, Jesus Christ is far away, and He appears as some sort of mystical figure you can’t understand or really know much about. But, if my body becomes a telescope, it brings Christ near to people who would never see Him unless I, through my body, draw Him. He is far away from some but, through our lifestyle, He becomes near.
Let us, like Paul, pray that Christ would be magnified in and through us.
