Getting Life into Focus
“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”John 4:35
Not only is it easy, it is natural for people to turn their focus inward. We tend to watch out for number 1 – ourselves. In our passage, Jesus directs His disciples toward the window of the world. He shows them the fields where they should focus – fields heavy with hurting people, seeking people, and confused people, who all needed Jesus.
We, too, live in a world that desperately needs Jesus. He wants to redirect our focus from inward to outward – to stop looking out for number 1 and to start looking out for those who need the Living Water He freely offers to all people. So take time this very day to ask the Lord to fill your heart with a vision for the needy world, and to allow you to see the world as He sees it.
