In 2019 scientists went on the deepest-ever manned submarine dive. And what did they see on the ocean floor? You guessed it – garbage. God never intended His beautiful oceans to be used as trash receptacles, yet that’s how they are used constantly. The same could be said of you and me. The Bible says we are the temple of God.
When you and I take in moral garbage and spiritual corruptions, our hearts become littered rendering God’s Temple to a garbage dumpster! So we need to watch what we take into our hearts. Our verse can serve as a prayer guide to help us discard the trash and replace it with that which is honorable, right, pure, lovely, and of good reputation. Such a change of focus on what enters our hearts and minds can help us clean up our act!
