Half-hearted Devotion

"The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes, take the water of life without cost. - REVELATION 22:17
It would be difficult to find a phrase or word picture that more adequately expresses the feelings of this holy season than “home for Christmas.” But this phrase isn't just one of sentimentality and nostalgia. “Home for Christmas” is a deep longing, because there are many of us today who, in a theological sense, are not at home this Christmas. And the reason is sin. You see, home is where the heart is, and if our hearts are not with God, we are lost and far away from home. But Christmas is God’s ongoing invitation to come home to Him through Christ.
Have you accepted His invitation? If not, make your heart a manger for Jesus to be born. When you do that you will discover you are home – not just for Christmas, but for all eternity.
