New you

December 30, 2018
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. - 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17

Many people embrace religious philosophy rather than a new heart. A member of our family graduated from college and seminary, earning a Ph.D. But after all that, in a tent revival meeting, he realized he had not truly received Christ, and was born again. The genius of the new birth is that you become a new creation, spiritual birth launches us on a process of growth that encompasses the total heart-the spiritual and physical.

You might have launched a new lifestyle of good diet and exercise habits last January and maybe achieved weight-loss and fitness goals. Now you’re at the end of the year. But you still must commit to continuing the process of healthy growth that doesn’t stop until you get to Heaven.

Perhaps you failed, slipped off your diet, neglecting personal time with God, forgetting your exercise regimen. The miracle of grace is that there is always a time and place for beginning again. Stay on the course of renewal in Christ for your total person. He gives new lives for old!

TODAY’S FOCUS
Commit to continue or renew your routine of personal Bible meditation, worship, and prayer for at least 30 minutes every day throughout the next year.
