No Wiggle Room

Did you notice the first word in today’s verse? 

It’s the word “only.”  It means:  this one thing you do, this is the most important thing, this is what the Christian life is all about. The word “only” has an exclusivity about it.  It means we don’t have a lot of options, and we can’t say thatGod’s Word isn’t clear and direct.  Do you want to know how to live each day?  In light of your commitment to Christ, this – and this “only” -  is how you now live. 

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if that word “only” would blink on and off in our Bibles. “Only.” “Only.” Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
