The First Step

A reporter, with cameraman in tow, conducted some man-on-the-street interviews. He approached one man and asked, “What do you think are the two greatest problems in America today?” The man rolled his eyes, yawned, and then replied, “I don’t know, and I don’t care!” And without meaning to, that man actually spoke the truth, didn’t he? One of the biggest problems in America today is apathy. We look around and realize our country is broken and that we have moved far from the moral compass put down by God in His Word, and all too often we do nothing.

So where will change begin? I believe it will begin when we humble ourselves, and – in brokenness – pray that God will restore us to a God-fearing and God-honoring nation. When we do that, not only will God bless America, but he will guide each of us to become a blessing to America with the lives we live each day.
