The Law of Love

The 10 Commandments did not become null and void with the coming of Jesus. In fact, He said that He came to fulfill the Law, not to abolish it. The law of God has not changed. What has changed is our motive for obedience. With love now as the true motive, we could read the commandments like this: “Love has no other God than the Lord and does not make a graven image. Love does not take God’s name in vain and remembers the Sabbath. Love honors its parents, does not murder, commit adultery, steal, or lie. Love does not covet.” Jesus said it plainly, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

Our love for Christ is proven and demonstrated by our obedience to Him. So how about it? Does your obedience show that you love Him?
