Delight

I like the word “delight.” The man in this psalm “delights” in the Word of God. He is being taught by it, and he meditates upon it.

Have you ever heard someone whistling a tune, and afterward you can’t get that tune out of your head? You just go around humming that tune all day.

That is the picture of meditation – you keep that word in your mind and you delight in it. You say it over and over until it’s a part of who you are, and you build it into your life.

We must delight in sitting at the feet of Jesus and being taught by His Word. To read the Scripture should be a thrilling thing for us, an uplifting thing – a delightful thing.
