V Day

May 08, 2018
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  1 John 5:4-5
The accuser always wants to remind you of sins committed, but your Advocate focuses you on sins remitted!

On this date in 1945, the Nazis surrendered, and “Victory in Europe” (VE) declared. Victory followed the Normandy invasion of June 6, 1944, the advance of the Allies, and Hitler’s suicide on April 30, 1945. With the liberators on the continent and the leader dead, it was all over for Hitler’s evil disciples.

The moment Jesus Christ came into earth 2,000 years ago, the Kingdom of Heaven invaded the sin-occupied world. At the cross, Jesus blitzed the devil’s bunker. There are still holdouts, but the question of who will win is settled forever!

In Christ we already have the victory because our sins are forgiven. We may not have been literally in the victorious Allied armies in 1945, but we were “there” in the sense of benefiting from their victory right now. So Christ came, beat the devil, placed us in Himself, and therefore we are victors in His victory!

Because you believe on Him in your heart, you can make today your personal “V Day.”

TODAY’S HEART FOCUS
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you focus today on victories you have experienced over the world, the flesh and the devil. Praise God for giving you Christ’s strength to overcome!
